completely renovated this lakefront home a few years ago. Because we spent so much redoing this house, we do not want young groups. Our preference is for families or mature couples. The summer of 2018 we will rent a 3 night weekend(Fri, Sat & Sun) 4 midweek nights Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs) or full weeks (Friday to Friday)rentals. The house sleeps a maximum of 8 adults or a family of up to 8 adults and 4 pre-teen children (We do not rent to 10 or 12 adults, however.). We have all new furniture and not cheesy stuff, either! There are 2 large flat screen TVs, 1 in upstairs family room and another one in the downstairs rec room. Both rooms have sectional sofas that are usable for sleep areas facing the TVs. The shuffleboard is in a large ground floor room with a bonus second refrigerator (great for storing all those sodas or beers without hogging valuable "main" refrigerator space. Upstairs, the kitchen is brand new and we have plenty of storage space in the kitchen. We stay at our places with our own families and we do not like living out of bags all around the place! We have done this (renting vacation homes in Poconos) for almost 20 years now. We know that you need storage areas (including 2 refrigerators), air conditioning (this house has Central Air!) , free WIFI, easy access bedrooms and baths for Grandmom/ Grandpop. There is a full size washer and dryer in the master bathroom. Stop bringing your dirty laundry home! We have a new 6 person hot tub, too! Great for winter weekends. It is on the back patio facing the lake so you can enjoy the view while relaxing after a day on the slopes! In every season, except summer, we rent for just weekends (you can stay 2 or 3 nights), midweeks, or full weeks or longer. Weekends run Friday at 4pm until Sun or Mon at 11am. If you can stay a full week, it will be cheaper overall. Lakefront houses are hard to come by--we have several, so if your dates are filled, find the link for "All my Rental Properties" if you want to see our other homes. We sometimes have a tiny trickle of water that runs across the yard, so we put a cute little bridge over it! Great place for picture taking! Another cool feature we have is a spiral staircase to the 3rd floor loft! Ground floor has the master bedroom (king bed) and bathroom, shuffleboard room with refrigerator and bar stool area, family room with a sectional sofa and flat screen tv, and the back door to back yard area. The shuffleboard is 9 feet long, easy to learn and play, and will keep your kids entertained for hours! We also supply DVD players for each TV and about 30 DVDs---all genres, including kids shows--but feel free to bring any you want! And if that isn't enough to do--you are lakefront, and we supply 2 boats--a pedal boat and a flat bottomed boat for fishing. And the fishing is great--but yes, you do need a fishing license in PA (although not for under 16--check the state website first to be safe!) The lake has lots of sunnies and large mouth bass, and even a first timer should be able to catch one! In addition to the 2 boats, we also have a large dock if you just want to hang out onshore--and we have chairs and tables by the lake so you can really relax. Back to the house---2nd floor has 2 bedrooms (both have queen beds), a full bathroom, the kitchen, dining area, and living room with another sectional type sofa (can be used for kids to sleep) and another flat screen TV there. There are sliding glass doors from the living room/ dining area onto the deck, and the deck has furniture for sitting/eating outside if you want. Outside the 2nd floor bathroom is a spiral staircase that leads to the enclosed loft, which has 2 double beds. Kids love this area (which is why we enclosed it--safety first! The only way down is down the stairs--no open overlooking areas!

House description: Both upstairs master bedrooms are very large, each with a king bed and their own Mitsubishi overhead A/C unit (if you leave the bedroom doors open in the daytime, the 2 units do the entire floor). You can spend a day exploring lovely Jim Thorpe (Switzerland of Pennsylvania), or stay at home and save money by cooking at the house, either in the new kitchen or using the grill on our full deck overlooking the lake. But if you want to go out to eat, there are plenty of restaurants in the area, ranging from hamburger hangouts to special occasion dining. We are only an easy 15 minute (at most) drive to Big Boulder or Jack Frost for skiing or tubing--then come home to relax in the hot tub! For summer renters, we open the pool right before Memorial Day, and it stays open through the end of September (and we have a passive solar heating system that raises the water temperature about 5 to 8 degrees). The house is very nicely furnished with a roomy master bedroom and full kitchen, and this home has great lake views from 2 bedrooms and the kitchen. There is a quiet high efficiency Mitsubishi in wall A/C unit that does the whole floor, so no heat wave worries! In addition to the inground pool, you also have the use of your own dock with 2 boats (life jackets provided) and a private firepit with a picnic table right by the lake. We are on Lake Agmar, an approx 25 acre lake (no motorboats) with great fishing---mostly sunnies and large mouth bass. The lake is within 5 miles of the Poconos exit of the PA Turnpike, and within 2 miles of Route 80 (White Haven exit), so it is easy to get to, and has no backroads driving. We are also very close to the town of White Haven, so you do not have to travel far for a food store, gas station, drugstore, liquor store, pizza, restaurants, etc. We are right off Route 80 in White Haven, and close to the PA Turnpike Pocono exit---so you will not spend all your vacation time driving! This updated home has an new kitchen with quality cookware, the rest of the home has new furniture including an 55' LED TV in the living room with upgraded cable and a collection of recent DVDs. One of the bedrooms also has a 37' flat screen TV. And we have a very roomy master bedroom (king bed) with a large private bath. That bedroom has a large (78' x 60') window overlooking the lake, so you can really enjoy the view! We have internet access and free WIFI. The downstairs bedroom is the largest and in addition to the queen bed also has a futon (opens to a full bed), so this is a convenient set up for a family with young children (but not for 4 couples!) There are also a sofa and loveseat downstairs and a sofa and love seat upstairs--if you don't want your children sleeping in your room. This home is also very conveniently set up for those who have difficulty with steps, so you can bring the grandparents(you'll need them to watch the kids when you go to the casino!) There are only 3 steps to the 1st floor, which has 2 bedrooms (one with a sliding glass door which directly faces the lake). There is also a full bathroom and central living area (kitchen, dining room, living room) on that floor, and another sliding glass door to the deck, so they will have no problems getting around. We tend to stay at this property when we're in the area, so the TV has upgraded Cable with 30 digital music channels. We have wifi and internet access, too, with your own bar height computer table, so you can bring your laptop to check your emails, work info, etc. The deck itself is the full length of the house, with a table for 8, the gas grill, and another couple of outdoor chairs and side table, and it is still roomy! There are also stairs down from the deck to the lake, which has great fishing and non-motorized boating. Everyone who fishes raves about how well the lake is stocked (large mouth bass, sunnies)--even my wife has easily caught fish! And right before the dock we have a firepit with surrounding chairs, so you can have a campfire after a hard day reeling in your catch! There is a 6 person hot tub outside on the covered downstairs patio, so you can use it regardless of the weather. It's another great place to relax, and you can look at a lake instead of a neighboring home! There is a full size pool table in the downstairs family room for your group to enjoy, too. This is a large, well maintained home with all the amenities—pool table, hot tub, 60 inch HDTV, upgraded cable, Wifi, and even a second refrigerator for your beer, sodas, larger items, and all new carpets. This is a private lakefront home with a brand new kitchen with all new appliances, and there is new furniture in living room. Please note linens are not provided. We have a full wall of storage shelving in the dining room--in addition to the kitchen cabinets--so you will have plenty of space to store your food items, plastic ware, etc.--no more rummaging through bags of stuff all around the house during your rental--I've been there, and we planned the layout to make your vacation stress free! There is a private fire pit area right before the lake Just a word of warning---our lakefronts are always completely booked in the summer (and usually by May), so if you want a summer week, please contact us ASAP so you will get your choice of dates. This home is convenient to I-80 and the PA Turnpike, has plenty of amenities and is very well maintained. Your group can spend the entire week on site and no one will be complaining that there is nothing to do--there is plenty to keep everyone busy, including a full size non-violent video arcade game (Klax) and a dart board. The living room/ dining room and kitchen have an open set up, so your group can all gather together for meals, TV watching, playing games, etc. and not be split up in separate areas. And we supply lots of extras others don't--while you're relaxing in your recliner, you can watch our upgraded cable TV, and we supply 40-50 movie DVDs and tapes. We have a gas grills on the deck so you can really enjoy the outdoor experience. The hot tub is outside on the downstairs patio, completely covered overhead so you can use it even in pouring rain. It is located in the back area of the house overlooking the lake, so you have privacy and a nice view, too. And you will be glad to know the owner maintains hot tubs as a side business, so our hot tubs are always clean and in operating order! For the adventurous group, whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River is really close--only two miles away! We are also right by the Lehigh biking/hiking trail (26 miles long next to the Lehigh River) and horseback riding. In cooler weather, you can use the two gas fireplaces---one in the living room, and one downstairs in the family room, and watch the 'fire' without having to buy and lug wood! We keep our houses well stocked and in good repair, and with plenty of extras others ignore. The kitchen has a new refrigerator and flat top range, and so much convenient storage space! We supply plenty of good quality pots, pans and other kitchen utensils. Our dining room table can seat 10, and there is also other seating in addition to outdoor tables on the deck and patio. Built in 2020 and featured in HGTV! 7,000 sf with large, open common areas - perfect for large groups and families! We built our dream cabin for large groups and families and are so pleased to share it with you! It has 2 bars (an English Pub upstairs and an 18' Irish Bar in the game room). Large open spaces for entertaining and spreading out. 7 enclosed bedrooms plus 2 more sleeping areas (loft and game room) and 21 beds. Brandon T reviewed Valhalla Absolutely incredible! I don't know where to start. We booked Valhalla and the pictures don't do it justice. Our group went down there for NYE weekend and we barely left the house. We spent most of our time in the basement which has the best bar I have ever seen in a home. At one point we had 6 different games going on in the basement- it was so much fun. We had 20+ people in the house and you would never be able to know it's so big. The house is nestled into the woods for the ultimate private getaway. It's so pretty that our group went on a two hour hike around the house one morning and just enjoyed the nature! Lance and Lisa were beyond awesome to work with and so accommodating. They went the extra mile to make sure our stay at the house was perfect. If you're looking for a place to rent in the Poconos- anytime of the year- this house is it. No question! (12/21/20 - 1/3/21) Bob K reviewed Valhalla Amazing Thanksgiving stay - My family stayed at the brand new Valhalla cabin over the Thanksgiving weekend. What an amazing stay. The cabin was immaculate and huge. We loved the huge fireplace in the main family room, and also the outside fire pit. You can hear the running waters of the Lehigh RIver from the cabin. One of the great features of the cabin is the downstairs recreation room. Our son and his girlfriend and our daughter and her boyfriend spent the majority of the stay hanging there. It has a huge Irish Bar, a poker table, a pool table, and assorted other games. What a great party room. It is just a short walk through the woods to the Lehigh River Gorge state park walking trail. We hiked everyday down the trail, taking in the amazing views of the Lehigh River. With the hiking trail and river right outside our cabin, the fire pit, and the beautiful cabin's upstairs and downstairs living areas, plus the huge tv above the fireplace to watch the football games, we wound up never leaving the cabin. Lance and Lisa were amazing hosts, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. They even had our Thanksgiving dinner catered for us, which was delicious. We will definitely be returning for another stay soon, I can't imagine a better place to stay when in the Poconos. It has an open floor plan for the kitchen, dining room and living room with a real (wood) fireplace and 7 bedrooms upstairs (sleeps 17) plus a large loft over the kitchen, open to the living room and fireplace below (with 4 beds, sleeps 6). The kitchen area has a English pub too - perfect for evening cocktails and bloody mary breakfasts! Downstairs has a large 2184 sf (56' x 39') entertainment room with an 18' Irish bar, pool table, shuffle board table, poker table, foosball table and living room with large screen TV. Lehigh River Gorge & National Historic Trail: walking, biking, swimming, tubing, rafting, fishing Lehigh Gorge State Park: Lehigh Gorge State Park contains 4,548 acres of land and about 30 miles of the Lehigh River. Recreational opportunities include: hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and whitewater boating. About 26 miles of abandoned railroad grade follow the river and are available to hiking and biking and provide access for hunting and fishing. Whitewater boating is a major attraction of the park. This section of the Lehigh River is Class III whitewater and is popular for rafting, kayaking and canoeing. Hickory Run State Park: (across the river from our cabin, approx 2 miles away) The 15,500-acre Hickory Run State Park, has over 40 miles of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. The Boulder Field, a striking boulder-strewn area, is a National Natural Landmark. Swimming: A sand beach is open from late-May to mid-September. A snackbar has sandwiches, drinks, ice cream and snacks. Nescopeck State Park: (approx 6 miles from cabin) Bordered on the south by steep Mount Yeager and on the north by Nescopeck Mountain, the 3,550-acre Nescopeck State Park encompasses wetlands, rich forests and many diverse habitats. Nescopeck Creek, a favorite of anglers, meanders through the park. Hiking trails follow the creek, climb mountains, pass through quiet forests and skirt wetlands. An environmental education center provides year round educational programs on the park’s unique resources. Beltsville State Park: The 2,972-acre Beltzville State Park, at the Jim Thorpe exit. The Pohopoco Creek, an excellent trout stream, feeds the 949-acre Beltzville Lake, which is a rest-stop for migrating waterfowl and is a destination for boaters and anglers. The sandy beach and children’s playground are steps from our deck. Enjoy our fire pit, hot tub, hammocks, kayaks, pedal boat. There is also a baseball/kickball field, basketball court, volleyball court and hiking right outside of our home. The interior is beautifully decorated, the beds have comfortable mattresses, and the kitchen is well stocked for your cooking endeavors. We have high-speed Wifi, two large screen TVs, Xbox, and pool table for your entertainment. Kitchen Includes a stove and range, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, coffee beans and electric bean grinder, electric kettle, instapot, toaster. The coffeemaker takes ground coffee. The cabinets are stocked with plates, serving bowls, utensils, pots and pans, salt, cooking oil. We also provide paper towels and dish-washing soap. Living room: Two couches, 65" TV smart TV with XBox and Netflix connected. Dining room: Large table and fireplace. Pool table room: Contains a pool table, cues and balls. Guests can download additional games or log into their own account as well. Bathrooms: There are three full bathrooms. One downstairs and two upstairs. All showers include body wash, liquid hand soap, shampoo and conditioner as well as toilet paper. Grill: We have a grill in the patio. We have a propane tank which we try to keep full, but sometimes it does run out. You can get it refilled at a gas station near by. Heating: We have central heating, controlled by the main thermostat between the living room and kitchen. We also provide space heaters in each bedroom, in case someone likes it warm. Cooling: We have air conditioning during the summer months, although rarely needed, given the cool Poconos breeze (The air-condition will be turned on after Memorial Day). Amenities: Lake right outside the house, where you can swim, boat and fish. We have a large fire pit, two hammocks, two kayaks and a pedal boat for guests to use. There is a volleyball court, a baseball/kickball field, basketball court just steps from our house. We also have a playground right behind our house and a trail that goes around the lake, leading its way to two other lakes in the community. RULES - Self check-in at or after 5pm with keypad. - Check-out by 10am. - Number of guests: please be honest about the number of guests you are bringing. We have outdoor surveillance and ask you to be honest. If you have additional unexpected guests please update the reservation and send me a quick message and I will try to accommodate! There is a fee for additional guests above 8 of $25/night. - Pets: You may bring pets as long as they are potty trained. The floors are made of wood and could be damaged by animal waste. Pets should never be left alone in the house unless they are crated. Our community requires all pets outside to be on a leash. There is a pet fee of $50/night for each pet. - Please refrain from the following behavior: walking inside with ski boots, setting off fireworks, smoking inside the house, parties. --Badges: During the summer months, security may check badges at our amenities. We have a total of 8 badges, and they are not required for children under 12. The community charges us a $100 fee for each lost badge so please make sure to put them back at the end of the stay. --Large groups under 25 and post prom events: While we do not have an age restriction for our property, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee for high-risk reservations such as post-prom events as well as other gatherings of groups under 25 years of age. We ask that all groups message us about such reservations ahead of time to see if this house would be a suitable option.
